About Craps Authority
CrapsAuthority.com is an independent guide to the game of craps, written and maintained by the Craps Authority editorial team. Our goal is simple: explain craps clearly enough that a first-time player can walk up to a table, or open an online game, and understand exactly what is happening and what every bet costs.
Who We Are
The Craps Authority editorial team is a small group of writers and editors who play, study, and write about table games. We are not a casino and we do not take bets. Everything on the site is published under the Craps Authority name because the guides are a team effort: one person drafts, another checks the math, and a third reviews the page against current casino rules before it goes live.
What We Cover
- How to play craps: the come-out roll, the point, and the flow of a round.
- Craps bets explained: what each wager does and when it wins.
- The craps odds and payout chart: payouts, true odds, and house edge for every main bet.
- Craps strategy: practical betting plans and bankroll habits.
- Etiquette, history, and a full glossary of table lingo.
How We Research and Fact-Check
Craps is a math game, so we start with the math. Every probability, payout, and house edge figure on this site is calculated from the 36 possible outcomes of two dice and then cross-checked against standard published tables. When casinos differ, for example on Field payouts, buy-bet commissions, or maximum odds, we say so and show the most common versions.
We review our core guides regularly and update the "last updated" date when something changes. If a rule, payout, or online offer changes, we revise the page rather than leaving outdated information in place.
Editorial Independence and Affiliate Links
Some pages include links and banners for online casinos. If you sign up through one of those links, CrapsAuthority.com may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Advertisers do not write or approve our guides, and a commercial relationship never changes the odds, payouts, or house edge figures we publish. Read our full affiliate disclosure for details.
Corrections and Contact
We want every number on this site to be right. If you spot an error or think a page could be clearer, please let us know through our contact page and include the page address and a short description of the issue.
Play Responsibly
Craps should be entertainment, never a way to make money. Only gamble where it is legal for you to do so and only if you meet the minimum age. Set a budget before you play and stop when you reach it. If gambling stops being fun, take a break and reach out to a responsible gambling organization in your area; in the United States you can call 1-800-GAMBLER.
